What to see in Magaluf

Magaluf is a town that belongs to the municipality of Calvià, and is located south of Palma de Mallorca, capital of the Balearic Islands. Although it is famous for its parties, Magaluf and its surroundings have many places to discover.

To begin with, we recommend some of the most beautiful beaches near Magaluf to spend a day of rest in the sun. The same beach of Magaluf is one of the longest in the area, 1.6 km long, and has a lot of services around it. What to see in Calvià

Located at the foot of the Tramuntana mountain range, this villa is a fantastic spot to visit some of the most amazing places in Majorca. Stroll through the historic centre, which retains the charm of a traditional village to discover beautiful hidden corners. In addition, its mountainous enclave will allow you to climb Na Burguesa, a mountain range between the municipality of Calvià and Palma de Mallorca. Paths surrounded by nature begin in this spot, as well as the viewpoint of N’Alzamora, from which you will have great views of the capital and the Mediterranean Sea.

In addition, this area also hides several prehistoric sites that you can visit if you like hiking. Among the best known is the mound of Son Ferrer, located within the archaeological park of Puig de sa Morisca. Here you will find this burial mound and a spectacular sepulchral cave. The urban centre of Cala d’Or also has much to offer, if you walk through its streets you can discover the oldest building that remains standing, el Fortín, a defensive building of the eighteenth century.

For hiking, head to the Natural Park of Mondragó, where you can choose between several routes that will take you to beautiful spots. This place stands out due to the sea birds that inhabit the area, such as the common coot or black-necked grebe. You can also get to the barraques de roter, an example of how dry stone has been used for centuries in Majorca for the construction of houses.

Its popularity is due to the proximity to towns such as Magaluf or Can Picafort, known for its crystal-clear waters. Santa Ponsa is also historically relevant, since it was on this beach where King Jaime I landed in the thirteenth century to conquer the island of Mallorca. What to see in Cales de Mallorca

Cales de Mallorca is located in the Cortera area of the Hospitalet Vell estate in the municipality of Manacor. Today, it is the main tourist center of the Manacorí coast, as well as an ideal destination for those who have in mind to travel to Mallorca with children.

However, this is not only a destination for sun and sand, but also offers endless options for cultural visits. One of the most recommendable is to visit the church of Our Lady of Sorrows, which began in the late nineteenth century.

One of the places you must discover is Porto Cristo (or Portocristo), located 14 km from the city Manacor, where one of the most beautiful natural harbors of Spain unfolds.
