Frequently asked questions about car rental in Mallorca
Can I modify or cancel my reservation?
You can modify or cancel your reservation free of charge up to 24 hours before it starts, as long as you have chosen the Smartlock or Relax rate. To do so, call us at (+34) 971 65 71 73 or email us at info@roig.com.
If you book with the Basic rate, you will not be able to cancel your reservation. You will only be able to modify it up to 24 hours before, provided you have added the extra "Possibility to modify the date/time of your booking". In that case, the amount paid will be kept as a credit in favor of the customer, usable for a new booking within a maximum period of 6 months from the date of the first booking. Once that period has passed, the credit will expire.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
At the time of booking, we will ask for your flight number (important not to confuse it with your ticket reference). We monitor flight arrival times and will know if you arrive with a delay; even so, it is better to let us know as soon as you find out.
If your flight arrives with a long delay, you will not lose your reservation, but if arrival is between 23:00 and 07:00 you will have to pay the night delivery fee.
Are there surcharges when I book my rental car?
If you wish to pick up or return your rental vehicle between 23:00 and 06:59, you will have to pay a night surcharge of €44. If pickup takes place at Mallorca Airport, the cost of the parking ticket will also be added.
What is the minimum age to rent a car in Mallorca?
To rent a car in Mallorca with ROIG, you must be at least 21 years old and have 1 year of driving license experience. Specific models —such as convertibles, SUVs, and higher-end vehicles— are only accessible to drivers over 25.
What documents do I need to rent a car in Mallorca?
To pick up the rental car, you need your ID card or passport, valid driving license, and a credit card. If paying with a debit card, review the specific conditions for this type of card.
Do I need an International Driving Permit?
If you are a European Union resident, your national driving license is sufficient. If you come from outside the EU, we recommend having an International Driving Permit alongside your original license, as some authorities and insurance providers request it to formalize the rental.
What types of cards can I use to rent a car in Mallorca?
You can use a debit or credit card. If you use a debit card, it is mandatory to purchase All-Inclusive insurance, pay the fuel deposit or leave a deposit for a tank of fuel —which will be refunded on the last day when you return the car full— and also purchase the Tranquility Pack.
Will I be charged a security deposit when picking up the car?
It depends. All our rates include insurance, with different coverage levels. You can choose between Basic Insurance with Excess or All-Inclusive Insurance with No Excess.
What types of insurance can I book at ROIG?
The rental price includes Basic Insurance with Excess (third-party), the amount of which varies according to the model. In addition, we offer All-Inclusive insurance, which covers any type of damage to the car, except for damage caused by reckless driving or under the influence of alcohol and drugs, damage from filling the tank with the wrong fuel, loss of keys, and theft of personal belongings from inside the vehicle. You can extend your coverage when booking or when picking up the vehicle.
Can I rent a car in Mallorca without excess?
Yes. The rental price includes Basic Insurance with Excess: if the car suffers damage during the rental, you will pay at most the excess amount. For example, if the excess is €900 and the damage costs €100, you will pay €100; if the damage amounts to €1,000, you will pay €900. If you prefer not to assume any amount, you can hire All-Inclusive Insurance with No Excess.
What is ROIG Rent a Car's fuel policy?
We have a full-to-full fuel policy: we hand over the car with a full tank and you must return it full. If you cannot fill it up, we will only charge you for the missing fuel, for which a credit card is required. If you do not have a credit card, you can also leave a deposit, which will be returned on the last day when we verify that the tank is full.
