The Consell de Mallorca — the island’s governing institution — recognizes the Mallorcan mobility company for its family-run history and its contribution to the island’s economic and tourism development.
Palma, September 15, 2026. – ROIG Mobility, a family-owned company specializing in car rental and transfer services, received the Medal of Honor and Gratitude of Mallorca last Saturday, one of the highest distinctions awarded by the Consell de Mallorca, as part of the official events marking Mallorca Day.
The distinction, unanimously approved by the Consell’s plenary session, recognizes individuals and organizations that have made a significant contribution to the development, profile and prestige of the island. In ROIG’s case, particular recognition was given to its local approach, the quality of its service and its commitment to the region over more than seven decades.
From a taxi to a leading tourism mobility company
The history of ROIG is that of a small Mallorcan company that has grown alongside the development of tourism in Spain: it began with a single taxi departing from s’Horta, a small town in Mallorca, to pick up passengers at the airport, and today has more than 300 employees and an extensive fleet of vehicles, coaches and taxis.
Brothers Miguel, Joan and Rafael Roig, the second generation to lead the family business, consolidated this growth. Today, the third generation is already involved in the company, bringing new expertise in administration, finance, marketing, sustainability and new technologies.
