Inca is proud of its nickname ‘the city of leather’, and today boasts a long-standing reputation as a leading production centre for the footwear and leather goods sector on Mallorca. Indeed, factories producing goods for many brands, including Camper, Barrats, Farrutx and Lotusse, are all located in the heart of the island. Most of these factory shops provide parking areas for their customers’ vehicles. Inca is also home to the Balearic Islands’ first Footwear and Leather Museum. Situated at Calle Quarter, 1, the facilities include parking spaces for visitors travelling by hire car. The museum houses a permanent exhibition providing an insight into the town’s history and its close connections with the footwear industry.
