Want to know more? In that case, here are our 10 group excursions in Mallorca. Take note!

1. Route through the Sierra de Tramuntana

What to say about this spectacular mountain range, located in the northwest of the island and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2011. Within its 90 km long and 15 km wide stretch -which represents 30% of the insular relief and more of 1,000 km2-, we find 20 beautiful. Among them, it is worth mentioning the picturesque Sóller, surrounded by fruit trees; Calvià, Deià or Pollença. Anyway, we must also mention other less known populated villages, such as Costitx, where the Talayotic town of Son Corró is located; Llubí, Maria de la Salut or Sencelles.

Traveling along the roads of the interior of the island, you can discover Ariany, where the sanctuary of the Virgin of Atocha, Montuïri or Petra are located, which also stands out for its unique church. As the final stop of this tour, we find the city of Manacor, famous for being the birthplace of tennis player Rafa Nadal and an important town.

2. Palma de Mallorca / Banyalbufar (25km)

Taking the Ma-10 and Ma-1040 roads from the Majorcan capital, in barely three-quarters of an hour, you’ll reach the charming town of Banyalbufar. The views you and your group can enjoy from your coach hire in Mallorca are simply beyond words. The route is fairly winding, but we assure you it’s worth it.

Once in Banyalbufar, don’t miss the Torre de Ses Ànimes, built in the 17th century to keep watch over the coast against the threat of pirates. Nor should you miss some of the surrounding villages, such as Estellencs, very popular among hiking enthusiasts in Mallorca and cyclists. This spot is also famous for being home to some of the best coves in Mallorca. Don’t miss them!

3. Palma de Mallorca – Cape Formentor (25 km)

This bus tour, most of which runs along the wide Ma-13, allows you to explore the island from end to end, from the southwest to the northeast, and get to know the northernmost point of Mallorca. There you will find a lighthouse that rises about 200 m above sea level, breathtaking cliffs bathed by crystal clear waters and coves such as Engosalba, Figuera or Murta. In its final section, the road winds, but the views you will enjoy from the viewpoint of Sa Creueta well deserve this small effort.

4. Wine tour in Mallorca

If you want to make the most of your holiday in Mallorca for some wine tourism, take the chance to discover the secrets of Binissalem Designation of Origin wine. To do so, you can head to the Raiguer area, famous for its vineyards, and to towns such as Binissalem, Consell or Santa Maria del Camí, where some wineries open their doors to the public.

5. Palma de Mallorca-Coves del Drach, en Portocristo (58 km)

If there’s an iconic spot in eastern Mallorca, it’s the Coves del Drach. Located in Portocristo, these marvellous caves stretch across 1.2 km in length, studded with stalactites and stalagmites. What’s more, deep within lies Lake Martel, considered one of the largest underground lakes on the planet.

6. Palma de Mallorca-Valldemossa (20 km)

In a little over 25 minutes, your coach hire in Mallorca will take you to the town of Valldemossa, one of the island’s must-sees par excellence. Figures of the calibre of Rubén Darío, Gaspar Melchor de Jovellanos or Frédéric Chopin himself have passed through here. There’s no shortage of reasons why: just consider the splendid Royal Carthusian Monastery of Valldemossa, which houses a church and a former pharmacy.

7. Palma de Mallorca-Alcúdia (55 km)

We suggest a route from south to north of the island, crowned by the beautiful beaches of Alcúdia. Along the Ma-13 road, in 45 minutes, your transfer hire in Mallorca will drop you off in a truly special town. Did you know, for instance, that Alcúdia is home to the smallest Roman theatre in Spain? What’s more, heading towards the port, you can admire the remains of the ancient Roman city of Pollentia. Not forgetting the alluring walls that protect Alcúdia’s historic centre or the leisure options offered by the neighbouring town of Puerto de Alcúdia.

8. Palma de Mallorca-Sa Calobra (61,5 km)

Taking the Ma-11 and the Ma-10 and in just an hour and a half, you will reach Sa Calobra, a cove that was formed by the pebbles that the Pareis torrent drags, which flows into this place. The final section is a narrow mountain road, 14 km long and full of sharp curves. In any case, this route allows you to contemplate unparalleled views over the Serra de Tramuntana.

9. Palma de Mallorca-Capdepera (77 km)

Another excursion through Mallorca that will take you from one end of the island to the other. Although it’s the longest route on this list, the Ma-15 will get you there in just over an hour. The main draw of this town is Capdepera Castle, a walled fortress whose construction began in 1300, built on the remains of a Moorish settlement. As an interesting fact, it’s worth noting that the surrender of the neighbouring island of Menorca was carried out from there.

10. Palma de Mallorca-Andratx (28 km)

We close this range of suggestions with a route that, along roughly 25 km on the Ma-1 road, lets you enjoy one of Mallorca’s most popular tourist spots. From there, you can head down to Port d’Andratx, one of the island’s most exclusive tourist destinations.

Is your group smaller and you don’t need a hire bus? No problem, as ROIG is also one of the leading car hire companies in Mallorca, with a huge range of car hire in Mallorca available, as well as a taxi service in Mallorca, ideal for your Mallorca airport transfers or transfers to and from Palma.
