How to get to Cala Na Clara

Reaching Cala Na Clara may seem like an adventure, but with our car rental deals in Mallorca, we guarantee a comfortable and easy journey.

    • Departure from Artà: Begin your journey in Artà, a charming village about 15 kilometres from the cove. From there, take the Ma-3333 road heading towards Cala Torta.
    • Route to Cala Torta: Follow the signs to Cala Torta, another beautiful beach in the area. Although the road is somewhat winding, the panoramic views make the trip worthwhile.
    • Turnoff to Cala Na Clara: Before reaching Cala Torta, you’ll find a left turn leading to Cala Na Clara. The road narrows and can become a bit rough, but with a suitable car, you won’t have any problems.

Once you’ve parked, a short walk of approximately 15-20 minutes awaits you. The trail is composed of dirt and rocks, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes and bringing water. The path offers spectacular views of the Mallorcan landscape, and at the end, you’ll be rewarded with the impressive sight of Cala Na Clara.

History and natural charm of Cala Na Clara

Cala Na Clara doesn’t have any major historical monuments, but its surroundings speak of the ancient relationship between the island’s inhabitants, the sea, and nature.

The first human settlements in Mallorca date back over 4,000 years, and the area of Artà, where Cala Na Clara is located, is rich in archaeological sites. Caves such as the Artà Cave and nearby Talayotic sites show us how the first Mallorcans lived.

During the Middle Ages, the coast of Mallorca was a strategic location for defence against invasions. The island’s inhabitants constructed watchtowers and fortresses to protect themselves from pirate attacks. Although there is no tower directly at Cala Na Clara, the nearby Torre de Albarca serves as an example of these defensive structures.

The cove has historically been used by local fishermen due to its waters being rich in marine life. To this day, you can see small fishing boats in the area, continuing a tradition that has been passed down through generations.

Cala Na Clara is a natural paradise that enchants all its visitors. Its beauty lies in its nearly untouched state and unique natural surroundings. The waters are an incredibly clear turquoise blue, perfect for snorkelling and swimming.

Unlike the busier beaches of Mallorca, Cala Na Clara offers an experience of tranquillity and privacy. It is the perfect place to relax, disconnect, and enjoy nature in its purest state.
