Taste the gastronomy in Mallorca’s villages

Many of Mallorca’s villages celebrate traditional gastronomic fairs in October, where you can enjoy live music, street markets, shows and festivals. Food is the focus of the festivities and Mallorca pays tribute to its best produce: llonguets in Cala Ratjada, sweets in Esporles, red peppers in Felanitx, and so on.

One of the Mallorcans’ favourite desserts is the ensaĂŻmada, so Inca puts on its best face to celebrate “Dijous Bo“, an event especially dedicated to this delicacy.

    Nit d’Art Festival

The Nit d’Art festival is one of the best events in Mallorca and is held from mid-September and throughout the month of October. This event is an important part of the cultural life of the island and is held in several towns of the island, on different days. During Nit d’Art, art galleries, museums, design shops and other cultural spaces are open to the public until late at night.

There are also art exhibitions, live performances, music, dance and other artistic manifestations in the streets and squares of the city. This is one of the best things to do in Mallorca in October and a perfect opportunity to see the artists at work, showing you their latest work.

    Visit the Rafa Nadal Museum

The weather in Mallorca in October is quite changeable, although you won’t find excessively low temperatures. However, it is likely to rain one day. But good things come to bad weather! We recommend that you take advantage of this rainy day to visit the Rafa Nadal Museum.

The museum is located in Manacor, where the tennis player is from, and offers exhibitions of Nadal’s career and other great athletes such as Michael Jordan, Usain Bolt and Pau Gasol. You’ll spend a great day surrounded by interactive games, practising on the F1 simulator, riding a bike or practising rowing.

    Relax on the beach

Mallorca in October is still sunny and, the best thing is that the sea still maintains a stable temperature. So, if the sun is shining brighter than ever on your holidays, and you have to put on your shorts, we recommend that you dedicate a day to relaxing on the sand – maybe you’ll even be able to take a dip or two!

Mallorca is a paradise with more than 55 kilometres of coastline and a wide variety of beaches to suit all tastes: sand, rocks, stone, cliffs, caves, etc. It is normal that you don’t know which one to choose, so we present you the best ones:

    • Portals Vells
    • Formentor Beach
    • Son Serra de Marina
    • Varques cove
    • Llamp cove
    • Es Trenc
    • Torta cove
    • DeiĂ  Cove

    Visit Palma

Visiting the city of Palma de Mallorca in October can be one of the best ideas, as you won’t have to endure the sweltering summer heat to enjoy the history, culture and architecture of the city. Here are some of the activities and places you should take a look at on your visit to the Mallorcan capital:

    • Stroll around the old town
    • Palma Cathedral
    • Almudaina Royal Palace
    • The seafront promenade
    • Museums and art galleries: Es Baluard Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and the Museum of Mallorca.
    • Food markets where you can buy fresh produce and souvenirs.
    • Bars and nightclubs offering live music.

    Wine tasting in Mallorca

Mallorca is a top destination for wine lovers and a visit to the local wineries can be an unforgettable experience on your holiday. The island has a rich wine-growing tradition, which has been given more importance in recent years, producing high quality wines.

In Mallorca wine is produced with native varieties, such as Manto Negro and Callet for reds, and Premsal Blanc and MalvasĂa for whites. There are also many ethnological tours that will allow you to learn about the history of wine on the island, such as the Binissalem Wine Route, the Pla i Llevant Wine Route and the Serra de Tramuntana Wine Route.

We recommend that you book a gastronomic pairing where you can combine local wines with typical dishes from the region, at a very good price.

    Boat trip

The coast of Mallorca is beautiful in October, as all the tourists have returned home and only nature is at its purest. Mallorca is famous for its beautiful coves and beaches, although many of them are difficult to reach by land. With a boat trip you can discover hidden and isolated coves that you will fall in love with, such as Cala Murta, Cala Tuent or Cala Figuera.

This island is also famous for its sea caves and many boat trips can take you to visit them. During the boat trip, you will have the opportunity to see the dolphins jumping in the Mediterranean waters. This will make your trip to Majorca in autumn an unforgettable experience.

Also, you can’t miss the beautiful sunsets on board your boat!
