Valldemossa is particularly renowned for its cocas de patata, traditional Mallorcan pastries. They are made from potato, egg, sugar and fat, which is used to grease the baking tins. The most traditional types of these pastries are sold in Valldemossa, as it is said that only one of the bakeries in this town knows the secret of the original recipe.
