But in Mallorca, October is actually one of the best months of the year. The high season comes to an end, prices are lower during the off-season, and the weather is at its very best – pleasantly warm (even the sea temperature!) and perfect for exploring Mallorca’s villages without the summer heat.

Visiting the island’s towns in October has another big advantage: many of them celebrate their traditional fairs and markets. Here’s our selection of Mallorca’s Gastronomic Fairs in October that you simply can’t miss:

FIRA DOLÇA o FERIA DULCE

Although dessert usually comes last, in this article we’ll start with something sweet. There are also drum shows (batucadas), dimonis (traditional fire devils), music, and children’s entertainment.

Don’t miss the first fair of October!

FIRA DEL PEBRE BORD – THE PAPRIKA FAIR

Next comes one of the most traditional fairs of October in Mallorca: the Fira del Pebre Bord (Paprika Fair). It takes place in Felanitx in mid-October and is a great tribute to the key ingredient in one of the island’s most iconic dishes: sobrasada.

The streets of Felanitx come alive with Mallorcan spirit – traditional dances, folklore, giant figures, children’s workshops, motorbike and car exhibitions, as well as industrial and craft showcases. It’s definitely one of the top things to do in Mallorca in autumn.

Wine tastings of typical Mallorcan varieties take place in local venues, and best of all, bars and restaurants create creative dishes using paprika, turning the town into one big tapas route.

FIRA DE MATANÇES

Another deeply traditional fair is the Fira de Matançes in Campos, also held in mid-October. Thanks to this heritage and the favorable conditions of central Mallorca, the wines of this region are known for their unique and distinctive quality.

This traditional agricultural and livestock fair features artisanal products, wine-tasting courses, and culinary demonstrations.
