They are made and selected by hand, one by one, in a process that mirrors that of cultivated pearls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Majorica pearls are made up of an opaline crystal nucleus that has the same density and weight as the finest cultivated pearls, covered with multiple coats of \u2018pearl essence\u2019, an extract obtained from organic elements taken from the Mediterranean Sea using a special technique whose secret is jealously guarded.
