Cala d\u2019Or<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is no coincidence that we have chosen Cala d\u2019Or to open one of the offices for our rent a car in Majorca<\/a><\/strong>. This town, which belongs to the municipality of Santany\u00ed, is one of the first tourist developments on the island and a clear nod to the typical Ibizan buildings, thanks to the presence of houses with whitewashed walls. In this nucleus you will not find a cove, but three: Cala Llonga<\/strong>, where the old garrison known as Es Fort\u00ed (1730) still stands; Cala Gran<\/strong> and Cala Petita<\/strong>, whose official name is Cala d\u2019Or. To get there by car, you can take the Ma-19<\/strong> road from Palma and the Ma-4013<\/strong> from Calonge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cala Figuera<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Also belonging to the municipality of Santany\u00ed, in the southeast of Majorca, this cove is the ideal solution to say goodbye to stress. In this beautiful stone, Y-shaped beach, you will find tranquility, great cliff views and crystal-clear waters in which you will immerse yourself into another world. You should also pay attention to the photogenic fishing houses that dot the area. To get there, take the Ma 6102<\/strong> road and, above all, do not get confused with the GPS, as there is another cove with the same name in the north of Majorca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cala Gat<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Located on the eastern coast of the island and very close to Cala Ratjada, this 90 m long cove, gravel and turquoise waters will not leave you indifferent. Without forgetting that it is very easy to get to with your rental car in Majorca, the area has all the hotel and restaurant services<\/strong>, making it a perfect choice for your weekend getaway. For your convenience, you also have a free apartment. Now, if you prefer, you can leave your vehicle at the port of Cala Ratjada, which we will talk about a little further down, and get there on foot. We highly recommend it, since its beach is not usually busy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cala Mesquida<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Along with the coves of Molt\u00f3 and Cala Agulla, Cala Mesquida was declared a Natural Area of Special Interest<\/strong> (ANEI) by the Parlament de les Illes Balears in 1991. Surrounded by a suggestive landscape of pines and dunes, this place stands out for its almost virgin nature and for being a large cove. If you wish, you can enjoy a sunbed rental service and restaurant, and even a small nudist beach. This white sand cove, located in the northeast of Majorca, is easily accessible by car and has free parking spaces, although you have to take a 200m walk to the sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cala Mondrag\u00f3<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Just 10 km from Santany\u00ed and in the southeast of Majorca, one of the best coves in Majorca with a blue flag<\/strong>. Cala Mondrag\u00f3 was elevated to the category of Natural Park in 1992, with the purpose of preserving the area from the massive arrival of tourists. As you can see if you get there, its cliffs and its Mediterranean pine tree vegetation and bushes are an invitation to calmness. On the other hand, the waters that bathe this sandy cove are shallow, so they are ideal for bathing. To go to Cala Mondrag\u00f3 from Santany\u00ed, take the road from Palma to Portopetro until S\u2019Alquer\u00eda Blanca and, once there, follow the signs for 5 km. To park, you have a free parking with capacity for about 60 vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cala Ratjada<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This cove is the main attraction of punta de Capdepera<\/em> and a very popular destination, especially among German tourists. Being the closest point from Majorca to neighboring Menorca<\/strong>, from there you can contemplate this other Mediterranean island. Once in the urban center, you can easily access other nearby coves, such as the Cala Gat, Sa Pedruscada<\/strong>, dotted with fishermen\u2019s houses; Cala Son Moll<\/strong>, a sandy beach, and Cala Agulla<\/strong>, about 15 minutes away on foot. Taking the Ma-15 road<\/strong>, you will get there without problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cala S\u2019Almunia<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Another amazing corner near Santany\u00ed. This beautiful seaside town offers one of the most genuine landscapes of the Balearic geography. You can reach the area in your rental car in Majorca from Santany\u00ed, following the Ma 6100<\/strong> road towards the Col\u00f2nia de San Jordi, but keep in mind that there are quite a lot of steps to get to it. From it, you can see magnificent fishermen\u2019s houses. And when you\u2019re on the beach, take the opportunity to snorkel. One last tip is to also approach the nearby Cal\u00f3 des Moro<\/strong>, another place that will not disappoint you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cala Sa Calobra<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Located in the town called Escorca and about 38 km from S\u00f3ller, this secluded cove not only stands out for its undeniable scenic beauty, but also because the route to get there is a challenge for those who love driving. In fact, the 14-kilometer-long stretch of road that leads to the area has a 900 m drop and curves that force you to make turns of up to almost 360 degrees<\/strong>. One of the most extreme has been popularly called Nus de Sa Tie (or Tie Knot). Anyway, the breathtaking landscapes through which this route runs \u2013 which include the Morro de Sa Vaca and the Morro de Ses Fel\u00b7les, as well as the unmistakable profile of the Puig Major, the highest mountain in Majorca \u2013 make taking this trip really worth it. The magnetism of Sa Calobra, a sandy cove with rock and boulders that has been declared a Natural Monument<\/strong>, rounds off one of the best options for your getaway to the best coves in Majorca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cala Sant Vicen\u00e7<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Located in the north-west of Majorca, between Pollen\u00e7a and Port de Pollen\u00e7a, Cala Sant Vicen\u00e7 is an ideal place to explore the north of the island. The route to get there by car provides a truly stunning sea view. And that\u2019s not all: you can also admire the Cavall Bernat<\/strong>, a mountain with rugged shapes and magnificent 300-meter-high cliffs. They will not distract you from the crystal-clear waters of the beaches of Cala Sant Vicen\u00e7: Cala Varques<\/strong>, Cala Clara<\/strong> and Cala Molins<\/strong>. To access the area by car, follow the signs from Pollen\u00e7a. When you arrive, you have two free parking areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cales de Mallorca<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cales de Mallorca (or Calas de Mallorca), in the east of Majorca, is the main tourist center of the Manacor coast<\/strong>. There are three ideal coves for sunbathing, swimming or diving: Cala Antena<\/strong>, 30 m long x 70 m wide; Cala Domingos Grans<\/strong>, 80 m x 140 m, and Domingos Petits<\/strong>, 50 m x 120 m. The first, which is the smallest of the three, is at the entrance to the town. You can access the others on foot, walking over the rocks. Nearby, there are also virgin coves, such as Cala Magraner<\/strong>. To go by car, follow the signs from Manacor. By the way: in Cales de Mallorca, you also have a ROIG car rental office in Majorca<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
